Welcoming You to May
Hi there! Thank you for checking out Dear May (established May 8, 2021).
If you don't know me already, I'm Leslie and I am a senior Interdisciplinary Health Services major with a minor in English at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA. Ever since I started writing op-ed articles for my school's newspaper, The Hawk, I've really come to love writing. There's just so much going on in my brain and writing is such an incredible way to organize my thoughts and express how I feel.
Whenever I think of a cool topic for a newspaper article I make a note of it, and as you can imagine, I have quite a long list of ideas. Some of them are random ideas that I know I couldn't write enough about for a full article, but that's where this blog comes in. I'd love to explore some of those topics I never got to and dive deeper into ideas that I never really gave a chance.
One thing that I'm looking forward to for this blog is my book reviews. I have about 8 books that I have to read this summer and I'm just excited to reflect on them and think through some of the concepts in each book. I'm not much of a reader but reading a good book is such a great way to get some time away from my laptop and phone (which I definitely need after a whole year of using Zoom almost everyday!).
(Update: I won't be posting book reviews on this blog because I usually write reviews for books on Goodreads. Check out the books I'm reading and other books that I've reviewed here: www.goodreads.com/lesliequan)
Keep checking back for more articles that will be posted throughout this summer! I'll probably post about one or two short articles a week (300-500 words), but I guess we'll just have to see how this goes. If you don't already, feel free to follow me on Instagram @leslie_quan. That's all I have for today though, hope you have a wonderful week!
